Hatchery1Entrepreneurship at the University of Alabama at Birmingham continues to grow with the inaugural Blazer Hatchery and Hackathon, a two-month intensive experience for students with strong entrepreneurial aspirations that culminates with a pitch gala showcasing student talent and a unique glimpse into our next entrepreneurial generation.

“This is a celebration of the power of entrepreneurship,” said Patrick J. Murphy, Goodrich Endowed Professor of Innovation and Entrepreneurship in the UAB Collat School of Business. “We want this event to inspire the next generation and transform communities and industries with impact and ingenuity.”

On Monday, Nov. 18 from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the UAB Alumni House, competing teams will present entrepreneurial solutions in five-minute pitches, and an experienced panel of judges will select three winning teams. The winners will receive cash prizes of $5,000, $3,000, and $2,000. The Blazer Hatchery and Hackathon program cultivates entrepreneurial talent through exposure to real-world problems and opportunities.
