The Live HealthSmart Alabama Mobile Market will be serving University of Alabama at Birmingham students and employees Wednesday, March 9.

UAB campus community members will be able to shop at the grocery-store-on-wheels for affordable produce and pantry staples at the Hill Student Center beginning at 11:30 a.m.

Live HealthSmart Alabama is the inaugural project of the UAB Grand Challenge, an effort to combine innovative approaches to address real-world problems affecting Alabama’s communities. Live HealthSmart Alabama’s primary objective is to move Alabama out of the bottom 10 in national health rankings, by advancing good nutrition, physical activity and preventive wellness, in partnership with Alabama Communities, working through the extensive framework, and drawing upon the expertise of the UAB Minority Health and Health Disparities Research Center.
