School of Dentistry to be restructured

Two departments will be replaced within the School of Dentistry.

The University of Alabama System Board of Trustees approved the recommendations of the School of Dentistry’s strategic plan during its meeting June 15, 2012.

Two new departments, the Department of Clinical and Community Sciences and the Department of Restorative Sciences, will replace the Department of General Dental Sciences and the Department of Prosthodontics. The Department of Clinical and Community Sciences will include a Division of Behavioral and Population Sciences and a Division of Biomaterials. The Department of Restorative Sciences will include a Division of General Dentistry and a Division of Prosthodontics.
