UAB presents 2013 Bevill Conference on Mechanisms of Neurodegeneration

The 2013 Bevill Conference on Mechanisms of Neurodegeneration at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) will feature world-class researchers from UAB and around the nation in fields such as Parkinson’s disease, Alzheimer’s disease and ALS.  The conference is sponsored by UAB School of Medicine, the UAB Comprehensive Neuroscience Center and the Bevill family.

The conference begins with registration at 7:30 a.m. Friday, March 29, 2013, at the Bradley Lecture Center in the Children’s Harbor Building, 1600 6th Ave. South.

The conference includes free registration to hear world?class speakers on neurodegeneration, as well as free breakfast, boxed lunch and snacks for registered guests. There is also a free evening reception at the UAB North Pavilion atrium. CME credit is available. A poster session will feature work from UAB scientists researching neurodegeneration.

Presenters include Serge Przedborski, M.D., Ph.D., Columbia University; Ted Dawson, M.D., Ph.D., Johns Hopkins University; Valina Dawson, Ph.D., Johns Hopkins University; Karen Duff, Ph.D., Columbia University; and Don Cleveland, Ph.D., University of California, San Diego; as well as Michelle Gray, Ph.D., Talene Yacoubian, M.D., Ph.D., Jianhua Zhang, Ph.D., Liang Lu, M.D., Ph.D., and Kyle Fraser, from UAB.
