Brown bag lunch-and-learn for student scholarship, loan opportunities set for Oct. 10

The event, part of National Health Service Corps Day, is from noon to 1 p.m.

Aimee Chism Holland, assistant professor in the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Nursing, will present a brown bag lunch and learn on student opportunities for scholarships and loan repayment through the National Health Service Corps on Thursday, Oct. 10, 2013, in Volker Hall, room C. The event, part of National Health Service Corps Day, is from noon to 1 p.m.

The event is open to students training to become nurses, nurse practitioners, physicians, physician assistants and dentists. It is also open to anyone currently practicing as a nurse, nurse practitioner, physician, physician assistant or dentist.

Holland is one of UAB’s National Health Service Corp ambassadors and was a recipient of the National Health Service Corp loan repayment award. Before becoming coordinator of the Dual Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner Specialty Track in the master’s program at the School of Nursing, Holland served patients at Cooper Green Mercy Hospital in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology from 2009-12 as a women’s health nurse practitioner.
