Celebrate nurses at Bham Nurses Night Out

Take a night to celebrate and embrace some of the hardest-working people in health care.

nurses nightUAB Medicine and the UAB School of Nursing invite nurses from Birmingham and across central Alabama to take a break from the bedside by participating in the first B’ham Nurses Night Out on Friday, May 12, at Railroad Park in Birmingham.

“Nurses Night Out recognizes the leadership provided by nurses in Birmingham, the state of Alabama and beyond as the front line of health care,” said Doreen C. Harper, Ph.D., dean of the UAB School of Nursing and Fay B. Ireland Endowed Chair in Nursing. “We are thrilled to co-host this event with our partner, UAB Medicine, as a way to show our support for all nurses for the work they do every day.”

The event, which aims to celebrate some of the hardest-working people in health care, will provide a family-friendly atmosphere with live music, giveaways and raffles, local food trucks, a corn hole tournament, and children’s activities.

“We want to reward them for the hard work and dedication they have to our patients, our health care facilities and the community,” said UAB Medicine Chief Nursing Officer Terri Poe, DNP. “Our celebration is meant for all nurses and their families to have the opportunity to relax and have fun together.”
