Registration is open for the 2012 UAB National Alumni Society Scholarship Run 5K/10K sponsored by Viva Health, to be run April 27 in the Pepper Place district of Birmingham. This race, formerly known as the UAB Dollars for Scholars Race, helps the UAB National Alumni Society raise scholarship funds for deserving UAB students. Last year almost 600 runners participated and helped raise more than $65,000 for scholarships.
Runners of all skill levels and ages are welcome. Registration will begin at 4 p.m. and the race will begin at 6 p.m. Members of the UAB Football team will lead off the 2012 UAB National Alumni Society 5k/10k Scholarship Run. Participants can enjoy the post-race party at Pepper Place with live music, food and entertainment. Food will be catered by Jim ‘N Nicks Bar-B-Q.
