The ASC won in the Invitations category for its Al Pacino Viva Health Starlight Gala invitation. The annual event is the center’s primary fundraiser for programming and arts education and outreach. The ASC also won in the Posters category for shows by Austin-based rocker and Alabama native Bob Schneider and alt-country singer-songwriter Jason Isbell. All three shows were presented in summer 2012. ASC Creative Director Amber Allen-Parsons oversaw the creation of the pieces with contracting art director Joey Seales and former ASC graphic artist Liz Springer.

The American Graphic Design Awards, presented by Graphic Design USA, has been the group’s flagship competition for 40 years. It is open to everyone in the graphic arts community, from graphic design firms and advertising agencies to in-house corporate and institutional designers, publishers and other media, according to the group’s website.
