A show by Birmingham-based artist Derek Cracco, M.F.A., associate professor of printmaking and graphic design in the UAB Department of Art and Art History, is on exhibit at Bennington College in Vermont.
The show consists of one enormous work, a wallpaper installation measuring 80 by 13.5 feet titled “From Here to There.” The work, which opened Tuesday, March 1, 2011, will be exhibited through Friday, March 25. According to the show’s catalogue, the work “challenges stereotypes of desire” and is concerned “with the space between desire and sexuality, between men and women, between the fantastical and the real.”
