Demark-Wahnefried leads several NIH trials aimed at improving diet and exercise of cancer survivors and has led basic and clinical studies ranging from foods that contribute to cancer to ways to prevent cancer among high-risk groups. She is a member of several national committees, including the Institute of Medicine’s National Cancer Policy Forum, the American Cancer Society’s Guidelines Panel for Nutrition and Physical Activity among Cancer Survivors and the World Cancer Research Fund.
