Susanne Fogger, DNP, thinks each person follows a unique journey from addiction to recovery. But for many, medically assisted therapies (MAT) offer some breathing room. With more than 35 years of experience in psychiatric/mental health nursing, Fogger has seen the impact of MAT. The therapies normalize brain chemistry, block the abused drug’s euphoric effects, relieve physiological cravings, and readjust body functions, giving her time to help patients learn to function in the world without drugs. She also specializes in opioid addiction and treatment and mental healthcare and substance use disorders amongst veterans.
