The University of Alabama System Board of Trustees established an endowed professorship in Mitochondrial Medicine and Pathology in the Department of Pathology in the UAB School of Medicine during its meeting April 8, 2011. The professorship is being funded by gifts from The University of Alabama Health Services Foundation.
