UAB professor to help shape licensing exams

UAB assistant professor of social work Chris Walker was selected by The Association of Social Work Boards to help write test questions for the its licensing examinations.

UAB assistant professor of social work Chris Walker, M.S.W., L.C.S.W., was selected by The Association of Social Work Boards to serve among the North American network of experts who write test questions for the its licensing examinations.

Walker was selected from applicants across the United States and Canada and participated in a writer training session held in Arlington, Va. ASWB examinations are designed to measure entry-to-practice competency of social workers. A passing score is a requirement for licensure at one or more levels of practice in 49 states, the U.S. Virgin Islands and the District of Columbia. About 33,000 ASWB examinations are given each year.
