Annie McCartney, instructor in the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Nursing, has been named secretary/treasurer of the Alabama Section of the Association of Women’s Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses.
McCartney recently attended the AWHONN National Leadership Conference in Washington, D.C.
AWHONN’s mission is to improve and promote the health of women and newborns and to strengthen the nursing profession through the delivery of superior advocacy, research, education and other professional and clinical resources to nurses and other health-care professionals.
McCartney earned her master’s from the UAB School of Nursing in 2007.
