“Rachel M. Ejem: Intersections” features Ejem’s recent research using mixed-media drawings and installation to investigate mathematical and metaphorical ideas of intersection.

Students from Medium: Art Club at UAB will exhibit selected works in a juried exhibition, while Assistant Professor of Sculpture Stacey Holloway’s solo exhibition, “Herds,” will also be on view. A free reception is set for July 15.
Bailey Barrow of Pinson is the only student in Alabama to receive this award for 2016. She is a student in the UAB College of Arts and Sciences’ Department of Art and Art History.

Each year, The Bell Center invites artists to collaborate with the center’s students and create a work of art that commemorates the graduating class. This year’s legacy piece was a collage of the young graduates’ first initials.
These free, short workshops will take place in June and this fall, led by the UAB Department of Art and Art History. Register now, as the studios are sure to fill up.

The exhibition, presented by the College of Arts and Sciences’ Abroms-Engel Institute for the Visual Arts, features masterpieces of 19th and early 20th century American art selected from the Warners’ private collection.

Chapman’s new works were inspired by the 108 days the family spent waiting for his daughter’s heart transplant. Also featured are works made by his daughter and her fellow pediatric heart patients as they awaited organ transplants.
Fifteen graduating Department of Art and Art History students will have their works featured in the exhibition, with a free opening reception from 6-8 p.m. April 29.
Hear about Indian truck and taxi art from a visiting guest artist and screen two short documentaries with guest filmmakers April 14-15, presented by the Department of Art and Art History at AEIVA.

Artist and juror Paul Rusconi selected the works by students in the Department of Art and Art History. A free lecture by Rusconi is set for 5 p.m. April 1, followed by a free opening reception.
A new generation of drawing and textile artists has employed both machine and hand-stitch techniques to challenge old ideas about embroidery. A new show invites a fresh look at the art form.
