Nine students won awards, and UAB Magazine won a Silver ADDY for its latest issue, which celebrates the university’s 50th anniversary.

The UAB community will lend a helping hand Saturday, Oct. 12, for a day of service.
The week includes the famed Gurney Derby, Hoops at the Hill, a free, sold-out Weezer concert, UAB Football vs. Old Dominion University and more.
The 7 p.m. outdoor concert is free and open to the public, but tickets will be required for entry. Tickets will be available Sept. 19 for UAB and Sept. 20 for the public.
BlazerPulse is an online platform launched in January to promote, organize and measure UAB’s impact in the community.
