The University of Alabama System Board of Trustees appointed Ray L. Watts, M.D., to the James C. Lee Jr. Endowed Chair for the Dean in the UAB School of Medicine during its meeting April 8, 2011. Watts earned his medical degree with highest honors from Washington University in St. Louis and joined the UAB faculty in 2003. He was named dean of the School of Medicine in 2010.
