The University of Alabama System Board of Trustees appointed V. Michael Darley-Usmar, Ph.D., to the Endowed Professorship in Mitochondrial Medicine and Pathology in the UAB schools of Medicine and Dentistry at its meeting April 8, 2011. Darley-Usmar earned his doctorate from the University of Essex, Colchester, Essex, and joined the UAB faculty in 1995.
