Kennedy to serve as president of AAHEB

University of Alabama at Birmingham Karen Kennedy streamKaren Kennedy, Ph.D.Collat School of Business Senior Associate Dean Karen Kennedy, Ph.D., has been elected president of the Alabama Association of Higher Education in Business for 2024-25. She took over the role at the association’s recent annual meeting in Point Clear, Alabama.

“AAHEB is a wonderful organization focused on the collegiate student experience, improving business education in Alabama and making higher education more accessible to our students,” Kennedy said. “I am thrilled to be able to play a role in that effort and further our mission this year.”

The AAHEB is an alliance of two-year and four-year colleges and universities that promotes the professional interchange of ideas among administrators and faculty of business subjects to improve the quality of business education. Its mission is to deliberate between the state’s postsecondary schools on issues in business administration programs.

Since its inception in 1976, the association has grown to include nearly 30 institutions and has been instrumental in bridging the gap between two-year and four-year institutions.
