The University of Alabama System Board of Trustees approved the establishment of the O’Neal-Sokol Breast Cancer Research Foundation of Alabama Endowed Professorship and appointed Andres Forero-Torres, M.D., its first holder during its meeting Feb. 3, 2012. Forero-Torres joined the faculty of UAB in 2001.
He is a professor of Medicine in Division of Hematology/Clinical Oncology the director of Clinical Protocols and Data Management Shared Facility and Senior Scientist in the Experimental Therapeutics Program in the UAB Comprehensive Cancer Center.
