Childs elected to ANAC board

Childs will serve a two-year term with the Association of Nurses in AIDS Care.

Gwen_Childs_2008_1Gwendolyn Childs, Ph.D., assistant professor in the UAB School of Nursing, has been elected to a two-year term as director-at-large on the board of directors for the Association of Nurses in AIDS Care.

The association’s mission is to promote the professional development of nurses involved in the delivery of health care to persons infected or affected by HIV and to create an effective network among those nurses to promote the health and welfare of infected persons. Inherent in these goals is the commitment to prevent further HIV infection.

Childs will be installed into office at the ANAC national conference in Tucson, Ariz., in November.
