Miller appointed to lead MBA program at UAB

Kenneth L. Miller, Ed.D., has been appointed director of the University of Alabama at Birmingham Collat School of Business MBA program, effective Jan. 1, 2013.

Miller, who earned his doctoral degree in higher education administration from The Peabody College at Vanderbilt University, began teaching in the UAB Collat School of Business as an adjunct professor of marketing in 2004. He was appointed full time clinical instructor in 2009.

Miller, who is consistently rated by students as one of the most outstanding MBA instructors at UAB, is responsible for teaching the capstone class in the MBA program. His business strategy class is required for graduation of the MBA program. He was also appointed executive director of the UAB Center for Sales Leadership earlier this fall.

Miller owned and operated Miller Brokerage Company, a regional food brokerage business, in Nashville for 20 years where he served as an adjunct faculty member at both Belmont University and Vanderbilt. He relocated to Birmingham in 2000 to serve as Division Manager of Innovative Concept Group, a southeastern foodservice brokerage company.
