The University of Alabama System Board of Trustees named John Burns, M.D., professor emeritus in the University of Alabama at Birmingham Department of Urology during its meeting on Sept. 13, 2013. Burns joined the UAB faculty in 1980 and was also a Senior Scientist in the UAB Comprehensive Cancer Center.
