Kilgo awarded grant to prepare early childhood special educators, therapists

A UAB professor has been awarded a $1.25 million grant from the U.S. Department of Education.

kilgo_storyJennifer Kilgo, Ph.D., professor of curriculum and instruction in the UAB School of Education, has been awarded a $1.25 million, five-year grant from the U.S. Department of Education. The funds will be used to prepare early childhood special educators as well as physical and occupational therapists with training on team-based services to infants, toddlers and preschool-aged children with disabilities and their families. This award is part of the Special Education--Personnel Development to Improve Services and Results for Children with Disabilities Program.
