UAB grad receives presidential fellowship

Jennifer Baldwin, a Birmingham native and University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) alumna with master’s degrees in business administration and public health, has been awarded a Presidential Management Fellowship (PMF).

The PMF is a two-year program that matches outstanding graduate students with federal employment opportunities. Participants jump-start their careers with management positions in a wide range of agencies like the Department of Health and Human Services, the FBI or NASA. They receive full salary and benefits as well as challenging assignments.

Baldwin was selected from a group of 12,000 applicants and is awaiting details on her placement, which will begin later this year. Baldwin, who works as a clinical trials research specialist in Division of Pediatric Infectious Diseases, has a passion for public health and hopes her assignment might take her to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
