Music student's work performed at national conference

A work by UAB Department of Music student Justin Wallace was selected to be performed at the national conference of the Association for Technology in Music Instruction on Sept. 23, 2010, in Minneapolis, Minn. Wallace attended the conference and presented a session regarding his composition of the piece, "Dogs Exist on a Different Time Plane." The piece was played and accompanied by modern dancers from the University of Minnesota's School of Dance.

Wallace is a member of the UAB Computer Music Ensemble and created the work in the ensemble, which is directed by Scott Phillips, Ph.D., assistant professor of music. Phillips also attended the conference and presented a session based on his research of undergraduate music technology programs in the United States.
