The University of Alabama System Board of Trustees approved the creation of the Division of eLearning and Professional Studies in the Office of the Provost at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) during its Feb. 8, 2013 meeting. The division will develop innovative, totally online degree and certificate programs and professional study opportunities for non-degree seeking adults and administer campuswide quality assessments on online educational programs. A nationwide search will be conducted to recruit the first director.
