The UAB Student Alabama Education Association recently donated more than $500 worth of school supplies to the Birmingham YWCA.
When the future teachers heard that funding for the YWCA’s after-school programs had been drastically reduced, they wanted to help. This year’s donation marked the second year the group has given.
The students have pledged sustained volunteering and fundraising support for the coming years.
