Metric: School of Optometry: Patient Satisfaction

At the end of each visit in the UAB Optometry Clinic, patients are asked to take an online survey to provide us with feedback. Those who are most satisfied with their care will be more likely to recommend UAB Optometry to others. Patient satisfaction is vital to us, as it is one of the most important parts of how we measure quality of care and patients’ perceptions of their overall experience. From their responses, we learn about things patients appreciated, as well as their concerns and needs. We use this information for planning, evaluation and identification of potential opportunities for improvement.


Data definition: UAB Optometry patients are prompted to take an online survey at the end of their visits through a digital patient communication platform (4Patient Care, Inc.). Source: UAB School of Optometry.
