Description: Dr. Chen-Han Wilfred Wu is an Associate Professor in the Department of Urology whose work unites clinical surgery with precision medicine. A dual-trained urologist and geneticist, Dr. Wu previously served on the faculty at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine in the Departments of Genetics and Genome Sciences and Urology, where he founded and directed the Urogenetics Program. Dr. Wu's research lab focuses on the genetic foundations of urologic and kidney diseases - including kidney stones, congenital urinary tract conditions, and male infertility - using genomic and clinical data to uncover disease mechanisms and improve patient outcomes. His expertise places him at the leading edge of precision surgery, integrating genetics, data science, and clinical evidence to guide individualized surgical decision-making.
About the PI: He earned his M.D. from National Taiwan University and completed his urology residency at National Taiwan University Hospital. He later received his Ph.D. in human genetics from the University of Utah and pursued advanced clinical training in genetics, genomics, and biochemical genetics at Harvard Medical School.
