One location of the campus food pantry has moved from Medical Towers to a newly renovated space at 1613 11th Ave. South, formerly Birmingham Pediatric Dental Associates. The Benevolent Fund offices also relocated to the new space.

“Relocating the Blazer Kitchen to this brighter, more open space ensures we can better serve the customers who shop here.”

Since the COVID-19 pandemic reached Birmingham in March 2020, the Blazer Kitchen has provided more than 89,900 meals; the pantry has provided 392,916 meals since its opening in 2017, and the new location will only help increase those numbers, said Kaydian Jordan, program coordinator for Blazer Kitchen.

“Relocating the Blazer Kitchen to this brighter, more open space ensures we can better serve the customers who shop here,” Jordan continued. “Plus, we have more room to store various types of products, which means a greater variety of food options for Blazers to choose from.”
