3 things to make getting to Legion Field easier

Written by

Employees have multiple transportation options to Legion Field this football season, including free public shuttle from campus and free parking with their OneCard. Also new to Birmingham just in time for #TheReturn are ridesharing applications Lyft and Uber.

Ride the free public UAB shuttle

Employees can park and ride for free from the UAB campus Express Lot 4 on Fifth Avenue South and 10th Street. Pickup is at two bus shelters inside Express Lot 4; it will begin four hours prior to kickoff and run continuously throughout the game. The buses will drop off at Legion Field at the on the east side of the stadium in the bus circle. Return rides will run until one hour after the game concludes.

Depending on traffic, buses will run approximately every 10-15 minutes and seating is first-come, first-served.

Check Lyft and Uber’s websites for promo codes worth up to $20 off your first ride.

Buy a single-game parking pass

Employees who pre-purchase a single-game parking pass can guarantee themselves a parking spot right next to Legion Field. Single-game passes also will be available on gameday — while supplies last. Public parking lots will open four hours prior to kick-off.

Tailgate parking and season parking passes are sold out for the 2017 season.

Take a Lyft or Uber

Employees can download the Lyft app, available in both the App Store or Google Play Store, or the Uber app, which also works on both iOS and Android, to their smartphones and request a ride from a nearby driver. Riders who take trips together can split fares for a cost-saving option.
