Students in search of the right fit

aug 5 retro insideIn 1971, members of the Alpha Sigma Tau sorority manned a table during recruitment. The sorority was established in May 1970 as UAB’s first social sorority.

Today, UAB has a thriving group of sororities and fraternities on campus, each focusing on scholarship, service and philanthropy, leadership, campus involvement and brotherhood and sisterhood. This fall, Panhellenic sorority recruitment is scheduled Aug. 21-24; while formal rush week for UAB’s fraternity organizations is Sept. 11-14, fraternities can recruit nearly any time of year except for specific periods mandated by the Interfraternity Council.

Want to get involved on campus outside of Greek life? Learn about all what UAB has to offer Aug. 24-Sept. 21 during Blazer Welcome, a four-week programming series to help new students get connected to campus with events such as Connect Fest 7 p.m. Aug. 27 on the Campus Green, where students can learn about UAB clubs, organizations departments and interest groups.
