Student employees may continue working on campus after Thanksgiving

Written by

rep student workers 550pxStudent employees working in UAB departments or units on campus may continue to do so after the Thanksgiving break if area leaders deem their work essential. Fall semester in-person classes end Nov. 20; classes will continue remotely Nov. 30-Dec. 4, and final exams will be conducted remotely Dec. 7-11.

Student employees working on campus after Nov. 20 must continue to participate in the daily UAB Healthcheck and randomized sentinel testing.

Students may work remotely for departments or units if there are appropriate tasks for them to perform. Students working remotely who will not be on campus after Nov. 21 will not be required to participate in the daily Healthcheck or sentinel testing. All students will resume Jan. 11. (However, students remaining in residence halls, students enrolled in 698/699 non-thesis and thesis research, students enrolled in 798/799 non-dissertation and dissertation research, students in clinical programs and students in Athletics programs are required to continue with Healthcheck and sentinel testing Nov. 21-Jan. 11, whether they are working or not.)

Direct questions on student employee guidelines to the UAB GuideSafe Hotline at 205-934-SAFE (7233).
