The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) School of Optometry is conducting a research study to find out how well the eye drop Vevye® (cyclosporine 0.1% ophthalmic solution) works in a subtype of dry eye disease called meibomian gland dysfunction (MGD), a common condition where the glands in your eyelids don’t make enough oil to keep your eyes healthy and comfortable.
You will be asked to visit UAB School of Optometry 5 times over approximately 6 months (26 weeks). Each visit is expected to last between 50 to 90 minutes.
If you are eligible for the study, you will be paid at the conclusion of each completed visit based on the following payment schedule: $80 after Visit 1, $50 after Visit 2, $40 after Visit 3, $40 after Visit 4, and $40 after Visit 5. The total payment you will receive if you are eligible and complete all study tasks and visits is $250.
