UAB hooding, commencement ceremonies Dec. 14

graduation commencement sized UAB will hold its fall commencement ceremonies at 9:15 a.m. and 2 p.m. Dec. 14 in Bartow Arena, and its doctoral hooding convocation be be held at noon in UAB’s Alys Stephens Center. More than 800 of the 2,354 students expected to graduate will walk.

Sergio Stagno, M.D., chair of the Department of Pediatrics in the School of Medicine will be awarded the President’s Medal. John Kearney, Ph.D., professor of microbiology and recipient of the 2013 Distinguished Faculty Lecturer Award, will carry the mace.
