Jan. 25  Treat yourself to something beautiful
See pianist Pavel Nersessian will perform works by Tchaikovsky and Prokofiev in the Alys Stephens Performing Arts Center Reynolds-Kirschbaum Recital Hall. Nersessian is known as one of the most remarkable pianists of his generation in Russia, and he is famed for his ability to play with equal talent the entire palette of piano repertoire. Tickets are $15; $5 for UAB students.

UAB's cultural diversity is on display during the 14th annual International Bazaar 11 a.m.- 6 p.m. in the Campus Recreation Center. The event is free to UAB students and employees and $2 for the general public.

Attend a meeting of the Birmingham Creative Roundtable, a community of creative professionals and entrepreneurs seeking to learn from others, network, and recharge their creative batteries. This 7:30 a.m. event is free of charge at Desert Island Supply Co. (DISCO). Coffee will be provided and we’ll feed your sweet tooth. Jan. 30  See doctors bring down the house
Students from the School of Medicine will take the stage in the Boutwell Auditorium for the Best Medicine Show, an annual philanthropic event showcasing their creative sides with short digital films, music and dance. Proceeds benefit Equal Access Birmingham, a student-run program that operates a free primary care clinic for underserved people in the Birmingham area.

Gaston Motel in Birmingham: A Civil Rights Landmark," and director of student media at UAB. Come ready to ask questions, rub elbows with fellow writers and sign up for an accountability partner.
