Heersink Conference Center, located in the Altec/Styslinger Genomic Medicine and Data Sciences Building (link opens in Campus Map), is now open for bookings from UAB and UAB Medicine units, as well as UAB affiliates.

The facility has three conference rooms, a lobby and a rooftop terrace. It has already hosted several campus events, notes program manager Jennifer Cupps, and has bookings out to 2027. “We are available Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. through 4 p.m., and other times may be available as well,” Cupps said.

“This is a beautiful space and will be a great location for conferences, fundraisers, dinners, lectures, poster sessions and other events,” added Stephen Murray, executive director of Business Operations in the Office of the Vice President for Finance. The facility is connected with the medical center through a second-floor bridge. Its location just a block from the UAB-owned Hilton Birmingham Downtown is ideal for larger conferences, Murray notes. Parking is available at the Hilton and at several nearby UAB decks.
