The 2014 UAB Expo will be held 8 a.m.-noon April 11 in the Campus Recreation Center. All undergraduates involved in research and creative activities are encouraged to apply online. This past year, nearly 300 undergraduates participated in the Expo, and more than 400 people attended.

If you think the Expo isn't for your students, think again. The Expo includes poster and oral presentation sessions by students from all academic disciplines and departments across the UAB campus. Those not yet engaged in research are encouraged to attend to learn about the broad range of opportunities that await them.

Awards for first, second and third place will be awarded in each submission category, including physical sciences, arts and humanities, service-learning, business, financial and international studies and social, behavioral and health sciences.

Judging applications are also being accepted from faculty, graduate students and postdocs; they may be completed online.

For the second year, the Provost's Award for Faculty Excellence in Academic Engagement and Global Citizenship will be presented during the Expo. The awards honor faculty who demonstrate extraordinary commitment to engaging undergraduate students in research, creative activities, service-learning and study-abroad activities.
