Grow produce, help Blazers during Green Thumb Gardening Days

green thumb streamDig in for monthly gardening through April and help plant produce in the UAB Gardens to be harvested for Blazer Kitchen, which provides healthy food, resources and referrals to UAB students, employees, patients and their families.

Learn more about Green Thumb Gardening Days, plus gardening 101 tips and preliminary results from the School of Public Health’s recent waste audit 4-5 p.m. Feb. 5 in Ryals Room 524D. These events are hosted by the Green Thumb, an interprofessional student organization focused on service, education and sustainable development on campus.

Join Green Thumb for three upcoming planting days at the UAB Gardens along 12th Avenue South and 17th Street:

  • 2:30 p.m. Feb. 9
  • 2:30 p.m. March 9
  • 2: 30 p.m. April 5

Green Thumb meets biweekly 4-5 p.m. Wednesdays in the Ryals Public Health Building; follow them on Facebook and Instagram to learn how to get involved.
