The UAB Comprehensive Cancer Center Patient and Family Resource Center provides answers about cancer, free computer access and supportive services in its location in the newly renovated Wallace Tumor Institute.

“Our intention is to provide a comfortable place for our patients to get the help they need and support our clinicians' efforts to treat their patients,” said Teri Hoenemeyer, director of education and support services at the Cancer Center.

The center also offers roundtable discussions, support groups, one-on-one support and programs that stress the importance of nutrition, exercise and incorporating integrative medicine therapies such as mindful meditation, restorative yoga and art therapy into treatment plans.
