UAB Service Awards 2026: See full text of graphic below.Joseph S. Lovetto, systems analyst lead in the Health Information & Business Systems department of the School of Dentistry, is being honored for 50 years of service at this year's UAB Service Award Reception.
Four others will be honored for 45 years of service: Mary Catherine Duncan, clinical care coordinator in the Department of Surgery; Joan Grant Keltner, Ph.D., professor in the School of Nursing; Ian W. Knowles, Ph.D., professor in the Department of Mathematics; and Joseph B. Phillips III, M.D., professor in the Department of Pediatrics.
In total, 314 employees with 20 or more years of service will be honored by the university during a come-and-go reception from 3-4:30 p.m. March 30, 2026, in the Hill Student Center Ballrooms.
The UAB Service Awards honors employees at each five-year milestone who have completed five or more years of service to UAB. Employees with five, 10 and 15 years of service in 2025 total 766.
