Hattaway has worked at UAB for more than 30 years. “The effort and patience to build something from scratch does not happen without an absolute commitment to shared governance,” one nominator letter reads.

“A Blazer through and through, she is driven to enhance the culture and to leave UAB a better place.”

Hattaway was voted the inaugural president/chair of the Staff Council for the 2016-17 academic year and now serves as their past-chair. She also is a member of the UAB Strategic Planning Council.

“If you were to prick her finger, I truly believe that Ginger Hattaway would bleed green and gold,” a nominator wrote. “A Blazer through and through, she is driven to enhance the culture and to leave UAB a better place.”
