NORC to provide funds for winning nutrition/obesity research ideas

The UAB Nutrition Obesity Research Center (NORC) is accepting abstracts for nutrition- or obesity-related pilot feasibility (P/F) studies; at least three to six P/F studies will be funded by the NORC at up to $25,000, with the possibility of a second year of funding through a competitive renewal process. Priority will be given to applications that demonstrate the NORC mission, NORC core facility usage and likelihood of future R01 funding.

Full-time UAB faculty members who are new investigators without current or past National Institutes of Health research support, established investigators with no previous work in nutrition/obesity research or established investigators in nutrition/obesity with a proposal to test an innovative idea representing a significant departure from ongoing research interests are eligible to apply. Post-doctoral fellows can apply, but are more competitive when they are preparing to transition to a faculty position at UAB.
