Employees turned out for day of camaraderie, competition

TeamUABBCC2017Nearly 400 employees signed up to compete with Team UAB and Team UAB Medicine in the third annual Birmingham Corporate Challenge held April 22 in Railroad Park.

“I am so proud of UAB,” said UAB Employee Wellness Director Anna Threadcraft. “We came out strong and had especially great representation for the one-mile fun walk.”

Team UAB Medicine, led by Senior Associate Vice President of Ambulatory Services Billy Connelley, placed in three events, taking home silver in the cornhole competition and bronze in both the soccer shootout and homerun derby.

Team UAB, led by Collat School of Business Dean Eric Jack, Ph.D., had strong showings in the day’s participation events, including the fun walk, bike ride and jump rope competition.

Birmingham Corporate Challenge is an annual event that promotes fitness and healthy competition among Birmingham-area businesses and organizations. In its second year participating, Threadcraft said “Team UAB and Team UAB Medicine got some fantastic coverage in the 2017 Corporate Challenge highlight video.”
