An emergency response preparedness drill will be conducted at the UAB Hill University Center (HUC) sometime after 1 p.m. on Friday, June 7, during which simulated gunfire will be heard, and participant actors appearing to have serious injuries will be transported to UAB Hospital.

UAB faculty, staff and students, as well as the UAB and Birmingham police departments, will participate. Officials wearing neon yellow vests will establish a perimeter outside of HUC, and signs at building entrances will alert visitors to the drill. UAB is required by federal law to conduct an annual drill.

For safety reasons, non-participant spectators are prohibited. Visit UAB.edu/emergency for details.
