Researchers at the University of Alabama at Birmingham are conducting a study on driving readiness and attentional control in teens and young adults who have not driven before. Eligible participants are teens and young adults ages 13 to 21 who have never driven and do not have a developmental, neurological, or psychiatric diagnosis. Participants under 18 must have a parent or guardian available to provide consent. Participation involves a single 1.5 hour visit to the UAB Driving Simulator Lab, a brief overview of driving rules and safety procedures, a virtual driving simulation similar to a video game, and a short survey about the experience.
