Mahmood Abdul Gahni, Danny Lee and Tim Walker are the first 2025 honorees in the UAB Shared Values in Action Program. Nominations for second-quarter honorees are open through April 16.

Alumnus Andy Hollis, who currently serves as interim chief financial officer and associate vice president for Financial Affairs, has been named CFO effective March 1. 

Beginning Aug. 30, all Equipment Disposition Forms (EDF) will be submitted online. The new form and instruction guide will be accessible through the EDF app on the myUAB portal and can also be found on the Financial Affairs website.

“Understanding Your UAB Fiscal Responsibility,” which is focused on the role employees play in managing UAB’s financial resources, will be assigned to certain employees based on job function through the UAB Learning System beginning July 1, 2024.

May will begin work full time at UAB Nov. 1 leading human resource units responsible for ensuring a positive employee experience at each point along the employee continuum.

This year, the university recognizes 50 years of service by Jeanne Hutchison, Ph.D., and Ferdinand Urthaler, M.D., and 45 years of service by Robert Kim M.D., and Joseph Lovetto. In addition, 294 employees with 20 or more years and 904 with five, 10 and 15 years will honored for their longevity.
