Industry-Sponsored Clinical Trial Accruals Report Update

The Industry-Sponsored Clinical Trial Accruals Report continues to develop. The dashboard combines two key aspects of clinical trial management—patient accrual performance and financial award balances—into a user-friendly platform. Together, these metrics help illustrate the relationship between enrollment performance and financial sustainability, emphasizing the importance of realistic study feasibility assessments and ongoing accrual management.

Now, in addition to Principal Investigators and Primary Study Coordinators, the dashboard is also available to Sub-Investigators (as listed in OnCore) and Oracle Financial Award Managers, providing broader visibility into study enrollment performance and financial status for individuals with key responsibilities.

Why is My Clinical Trial Not in the Dashboard?

The Industry-Sponsored Clinical Trial Accruals Report only includes industry-sponsored clinical trials that meet all of the following criteria:

• Open to accrual in OnCore
• Confirmed as a clinical trial through the Office of Sponsored Programs Clinical Trial Agreement process
• Implemented on or after January 1, 2018

If you believe that your trial meets these criteria but does not appear in the report’s dashboard, please contact Melissa McBrayer, Director of Accrual Strategies in the ARO-CT.

Division and Department Leadership Roll-up Reporting in Development

The next phase of dashboard development is roll-up reporting, which will provide summarized views of data at broader organizational levels, such as divisions and departments. By consolidating key study metrics into a single view, roll-up reporting will enable leaders to more easily identify trends, monitor overall performance, and gain insights that may not be apparent when reviewing studies individually. The goal of this summary is to enhance metric visibility to support informed decision-making, help prioritize areas for further evaluation, and provide a more strategic perspective on clinical trial operations across UAB.

Accessing the Dashboard

Report data is refreshed monthly. For users preferring a direct link, an email is sent on the second Thursday of every month. Users may access the report anytime through the my.uab.edu portal following these steps:

1. Sign in to my.uab.edu using your BlazerID and password.
2. Navigate to the myResearch tab.
3. Select Browse Research Reports under the Reports section.
4. Search for “Accrual” in the Reports Catalog.
