New opportunities are added as they are released. UAB units may request publicity of funding opportunities by completing the form linked above.
Center for Clinical and Translational Science
The tri-state Southeast CEAL consortium (UAB, UMMC, and Tulane) invites faculty to apply for the Southeast Community Engagement Alliance (CEAL) Research Initiative. Up to $25,000 direct costs is available for research projects focused on nutrition-focused, community-engaged pilot proposals to address chronic disease across Alabama, Mississippi, and Louisiana. Projects must include at least one academic site lead (PI) from UAB, UMMC, or Tulane University, and one community-based site lead affiliated with a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Interested applicants should submit an application by April 10, 2026, at 5pm (CT).
Center for Research in Women's Health
The Center for Research in Women's Health (CRWH) invites faculty to apply for a pilot research project grant. Up to $50,000 is available for five (5) research projects to support high quality and impactful women’s health research that generates preliminary data for future NIH/Extramural grant applications. Interested applicants should submit a proposal through InfoReady by April 15, 2026.
UAB Comprehensive Diabetes Center
The UAB Comprehensive Diabetes Center (UCDC) invites faculty to apply for the 2026 Seed Funding Program. Up to $50,000 is available for research projects focused on Precision Diabetes. Interested applicants should submit an application by 5 p.m. June 19, 2026.
Blazer Bridge Fund
The UAB Harbert Institute for Innovation and Entrepreneurship invites faculty to apply for the fourth cohort of the Blazer Bridge Fund, an early-stage translational fund aiming to support the development of novel intellectual property (IP) to attract licensee interest and/or position the technology for intellectual property protection. Up to $50,000 is available for each of five to six projects. Interested applicants should submit an application by May 15, 2026.
